How to fill a scanned PDF that has no fields
A scanned form is just a picture of paper. It has no interactive fields, so most editors leave you dragging text boxes around by hand. This guide shows how to fill a scanned or photographed PDF properly — by having the tool read the page the way a person would.
Why scanned forms are harder
A "born-digital" PDF often contains real form fields (AcroForm fields) that software can fill automatically. A scan does not. It is an image, and the empty lines and boxes on it are just pixels. To fill it on screen, something has to look at those pixels and work out where a human is supposed to write.
How Formagator handles it

It finds printed rules and grid lines — even faint or slightly skewed ones from a phone photo — and works out which blank spaces are answer fields and which text is a label. Line detection tolerates moderate skew from phone photos. Very rotated pages are best straightened first.

Can it read handwriting?
OCR is tuned for printed labels on the form, not for reading handwriting. It uses the printed labels to place fields; you type the answers.
